The Corps of Engineers consists of four main parts or branches:
- Combat Engineers,
- MES,
- Border Roads Organization and
- Military Survey.
The Military Engineering Service, which is an important part of the Corps has played a crucial role in Nation Building. It provides MES cover not only to the three Services, namely, Army, Navy and Air Force but also Defence Research & Development Organisation, KV Sangthan and Ordinance Factories. A number of prestigious and time bound projects have been completed over the years.
Indian Army Corps of Engineers: How to Join
You can join Indian Army Corps of Engineers in two ways. The one is for Engineering graduates while the non-engineering students should have a post graduation degree. As an Engineering Graduate you can join through TGC (Technical Graduate Course) and SSC Tech. You may also apply for Joining Indian Army as an officer after 12th pass (PCM) through Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme 2020 for 12th Pass.
You should be a Male Indian citizen (including, temporary Central/State Govt servants, serving parsons of the regular Army and Territorial Army (including Territorial Army Officer) and serving personnel of Navy and Air Force.
