The Parliamentary Official Language Committee came into existence as a result of the system made in the Official Languages ​​Act, 1963. The said Act was enacted to determine the Official Language Policy of the Union to be adopted after the envisaged fifteen year period i.e. 26 January 1965 of the Constitution to adopt Hindi for the official purposes of the Union Section 4 (1) of the Act provides that after the expiry of ten years of the date (ie January 26, 1965) of Section 3 of the said Act, the Committee on Official Language has made. The Parliamentary Official Language Committee was constituted with effect from January, 1976 in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
